Auras
Have you ever gone to a social event and return home exhausted? Have you ever been feeling really good and then, all of a sudden, you’re sad or angry for no obvious reason?
It might have to do with your aura being too big because, whatever is in your auric field, is your reality.
So let's say that your aura is about 20 feet out from your body and you're in a crowd of people. Not only is your aura sensing your own spirit and your own feelings, but you are also incorporating the feelings of people in the crowd, which can include happiness, stress, sadness, anger, fear, etc.
By developing a healthy aura and energetic boundaries, you can keep your aura at a healthy range from your body, maintain your energy, and not take on anyone else’s energy and feelings.
Auric photography started in 1939 and is still popular today. Learn more here.
What is an Aura?
Your Aura, or your energy field, is the manifestation of the universal energy. It can be described as a luminous body that surrounds the physical body, emitting its own frequency.
It's often described as a luminous glow or an aura of colored light that extends a few inches to several feet from the body. Your aura contains information about your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state.
It's often associated with different colors, each color thought to correspond to various aspects of an individual's well-being or personality traits.
Your aura is also an energy barrier that creates a boundary between you and others. It is similar to a filter system that filters out energy that is toxic to you and allows into your field what is uplifting. It also allows intuitive information to move in and out of your energy field.
The 7 Layers of Your Aura
Researchers have created theoretical models that divide the aura into seven layers. These layers are sometimes called bodies, and they interpenetrate and surround each other in successive layers. Each succeeding body is composed of finer substances and higher vibrations than the body that it surrounds and interpenetrates.
The lower three auric bodies are associated with and metabolize energies related to the physical world, and the upper three metabolize energies related to the spiritual world.
The fourth layer or astral level, associated with love and the heart chakra, is the transforming crucible through which all energy must pass when going from one world to the other. Spiritual energy must pass through the fire of the heart to be transformed into the lower physical energies, and the physical energies must pass through transformative fire of the heart to become spiritual energies. The fourth layer is the doorway through which we can enter into the other states of reality.
We are just beginning to discover how complicated the layers above the third really are. Many people believe that each layer above the third is an entire layer of reality that go beyond what we normally call human.
Most of us experience these realities during sleep but do not remember them. Some of us can go into those states of reality by expanding the consciousness through meditative techniques. These meditative or mindful techniques can provide a doorway for our consciousness to travel.
Your aura has an intelligence; it responds to every thought and every action that comes to mind whether it is conscious or unconscious.
The 7 Layers
-
The closest layer to your physical body, this layer resonates with your physical sensations and feelings. Think about the warmth you feel on your skin when you step into the sun. This layer, while invisible, captures the essence of that sensation. It's a reflection of your physical well-being and your tangible experiences. Just as you care for your physical body, paying attention to this layer can guide you on how to nourish and heal yourself.
-
Moving out one layer, we reach the Emotional layer. Associated with emotions and feelings without a conscious source (those gut feelings you can't explain), it plays a vital role in how you interact with the world emotionally. Have you ever felt a sudden mood shift without any apparent reason? That's this layer, trying to communicate with you. Are you matching someone or mirroring them?
-
Next, we have the Vital or Mental body. This layer is the realm of your logical mind, thoughts, and processes. Just as you spend time reflecting and contemplating, this layer holds the blueprint of those processes. By understanding it, you can unlock greater clarity and focus in your everyday life and also look for the patterns, loops, and programs that keep you locked in old behaviors. It is connected to your 3rd chakra. Oftentimes we think it's our mind that is directing things, but it can actually be the ego (which is the unevolved aspect of the 3rd chakra.)
-
This layer holds the impressions of all of your experiences, both in the physical realm, the Spiritual realm (astral travel), and from your dream space. It is here that unprocessed pictures and imprints can collect - affecting how you see yourself and the world around you. The Astral layer is also the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, and it is here that we can experience a block or a gap that keeps our Spiritual exploration from anchoring into our physical journey. Learning how to bridge or heal that gap can accelerate your healing and conscious growth.
-
Here, we start to transcend into the higher spiritual layers. The fifth layer represents the first layer of the Soul Body. This is a full energetic representation of your physical form. It is also the energetic repository of your Karmic or Soul Memory.
-
Continuing our ascent, this layer represents divine love, spiritual ecstasy, and the beautiful moments where you feel one with the universe. This is also the layer that we access to tap into Spiritual truths, bringing them in so that we can manifest them into the physical.
-
This layer connects you to the divine, the vast cosmos, and everything beyond comprehension. It is your connection to your divine source, and it is also how people see, react, and interact with you. If you feel misunderstood or unseen, doing energy work on this layer can be helpful. You can also use this outer layer to support your own healthy boundaries. Try placing the energy of compassion on the outside of this layer; it will help people receive what they need energetically without you having to get involved.
